WheelMates Collectibles and Mini-games Explained
Data checked:
| Collectible | "All of them" achievement | Owners with it | How many | What it is |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Neuro-Cores | Charge to full capacity! | 0.2% | Total not published; the capacitor shows the per-sector count in game | Yellow energy orbs scattered through every level. A local capacitor in each sector shows how many you have banked; enough cores plus full sync lets the professor override the house security. |
| Neuro-nodes | What does Everett have to say about it? | 0.7% | Total not published | Purple audio nodes where Professor Everett Bloom talks: instructions, what happened recently, and memories. They can be replayed from the Journal. |
| Scannable objects | Seek & Scan | 0.1% | Total not published | Objects you scan with the data harvesting module: newspaper articles, napkin sketches, notes written by and to Everett. They fill the Journal with the household's backstory. |
| Neuro-Memory Cards | Story driven | 0.2% | Total not published | SD-style cards holding longer audio logs: arguments and lab gossip between Everett and his brother Oliver, such as the toxic BH-19 fridge argument. |
| Custom parts | Ultra-Fine-tuning | 0.1% | Total not published | Wheels, antennas and horns hidden around the house. Base colour is chosen before you start; everything else is found while exploring. |
| Mini-games | Mini-games lovers | 0.7% | Two types seen so far | Optional two-player games triggered by pickups in the levels: Tag (40-second chase, the tagged car is faster) and Coin Rush (collect more coins than your partner). Reviewers report the same two repeating in later levels. |

The story the collectibles tell
Nodes are Professor Everett Bloom talking to you directly. Scannable objects show sides of him he would not volunteer: a napkin sketch of a cat-feeder mechanism, a newspaper profile from the Carl Zimmerman Institute, bills telling him to stop paying for Hyper-Priority shipping. Memory cards hold the arguments: his brother Oliver complaining about a kitchen fridge full of toxic BH-19 with pipes run under the island. Devlog #2 (July 17, 2026) describes all three types, and the launch footage matches it. Snowball, the household cat who escaped her neuro-collar in the crawl space, turns up in telemetry logs and a missing-cat notice.
Names in the story so far:
- Professor Everett Bloom: The voice in the wires; senior lead researcher at the Carl Zimmerman Institute, Department of Neurocybernetics and Resonant Systems, now trapped inside the house grid.
- Oliver Bloom: Everett's brother and co-builder of the RC cars; vanished a month before the game during a build experiment.
- Snowball: The household cat, a white half-Persian; escaped her neuro-collar in the crawl space and appears in telemetry logs and a missing-cat notice.
Collectible questions
How many collectibles are there in WheelMates?
Firevolt has not published totals, and the achievement descriptions only say "all". The capacitor in each sector shows your Neuro-Core count for that sector, which is the only in-game counter we have seen. We will fill in totals from the Journal once a 100% run is documented.
Do I need to collect everything to finish?
No. Enough Neuro-Cores plus completed sync tracks are what open the next area (the professor says "full sync plus enough cores"); the rest is optional. The 100% Mates achievement is the only thing that needs all of it.
Where are the collectibles in the Journal?
The Journal, added in the June 15 demo update, tracks collectibles per room and stores nodes, scans and memory cards so you can replay them. On a controller, use the left stick to move down into a log entry; the right stick and D-pad do nothing there.
What are the mini-games?
Tag and Coin Rush, both triggered by a glowing pickup in a level. Tag gives you 40 seconds with the tagged car moving faster; Coin Rush is a race to grab more coins than your partner. The Mini-games lovers achievement wants all of them played; reviewers say the same two repeat in later levels.
